Here’s the third in a series of posts about less traditional wedding venues. Today’s topic will be the restaurant wedding!
I’ve photographed a number of restaurant weddings over the past few years and it seems that they are growing in popularity. Restaurants are a great setting for an intimate wedding. Some people, like Sabi and Richard, invite only their closest friends and families to their wedding, and a restaurant is a wonderful space to host them!
I really enjoy restaurant weddings because they tend to be more intimate. As a photographer, a smaller wedding lets me focus on the relationships between my couple and their guests. I have more opportunities for candid photography, and can highlight the emotional components of the day.
Another great part of hosting a restaurant wedding is that it can mean less planning for the bride and groom! You don’t have to worry about selecting a caterer, renting chairs and tables, and oftentimes restaurants won’t need much decorating because they already have wonderful decor. And, since they tend to be on the smaller side in terms of guest capacity, you won’t have as much to juggle on the wedding day.
Restaurant weddings can feel more like parties than traditional weddings, which is one of the reasons I love restaurant weddings so much! This next set of photos from Kelly and Clark’s wedding shows their guests doing karaoke in the restaurant after the guests had finished dinner!
Did you have your wedding a restaurant? Are you happy you did? Please feel free to share your experience in the comments!
