Happy (belated) new year everybody! As I sit here reflecting on 2014, I can’t help but think about how grateful I am for the year that was. I did some rebranding at the end of 2013, and it was a big risk for me and my business. It really paid off, and I met and worked with with some of the most amazing couples this year! I got to photograph not one but two backyard weddings (I’m a huge fan of the backyard wedding!), an art museum wedding, a bride and groom on the carousel in Boston, and a dog who crashed wedding party photos! All of my couples this year were fun, laid back, and put their style and personal touches into their weddings. Here’s a selection of photos from each wedding I shot in 2014!
And here are some images from the engagement sessions I photographed this year. Much like the weddings, the couples injected their stories into the photos. One session was held at the park where the couple met at high school. I did two sessions at couples’ homes, which I’m a huge fan of! I visited a coffee shop frequented by one couple, photographed another couple doing crossword puzzles (one of their favorite pastimes) on Newbury Street, and had the best time photographing a color throw on the beach! I’m very excited that 2014 was the year I started offering headshots again! I’m so happy that Shawn and I were able to set up our office to be a great shooting space, and grateful to everyone who came in for mini sessions to help me get a better sense of how the space would function as a studio! I photographed Jacob’s Bar Mitzvah at the Charles River Museum of Industry and it was one of the highlights of the year for me!As was Ruby’s Bat Mitzvah!I did a newborn Mommy & Me shoot, which was so much fun and beyond sweet. I’d love to do more shoots like this so if you know of anyone who might be interested, please send them my way!And finally, one of the highlights of the year for me was photographing a newborn at the hospital with his parents (some of you may recognize his father as my second shooter Shawn!). I was honored to share this special time with them, and it brought back the flood of emotions I felt when my son was born. I still look at the photos we had taken at the hospital on my son’s second day in the world, and am brought right back to that day while I marvel at how quickly time passes.
It really was a wonderful year, and I am so happy that I get to do what I love for my job. Thanks to all of you who let me into your lives, and for becoming part of mine.
